Cruising Connecticut combines an eclectic selection of places to visit with the fine art of picnicking. From hunting spring wildflowers to wine tasting — from hiking and biking on miles of trails to tubing and kayaking on our waterways — from city walking tour to country drives — from old homesteads to unique museums. And, who would think of picnicking in the middle of a shopping trip or at the theater!

SELL YOUR BOOKS AT THE BIG E CAPA BOOTH

Sell books! Be a celebrity signing your books! Network and make new contacts!

The 2008 Big E, New England's Autumn Tradition and the largest fair in New England, will be held September 12-28. For the second year, CAPA will sponsor a booth in the Connecticut building. Members are invited to showcase their titles in the “bookstore” display.

Governor Jodi Rell visited the CAPA booth last year and was most impressed. Thousands of others stopped by our bookstore while browsing the Connecticut building. In 2007, CAPA’s participating authors sold over 900 books and grossed $13,000 in sales. Over one million visitors passed through The Big E gates. Overall attendance in 2007 was the second highest ever. What a great venue to gain maximum exposure!

Daily hours are from 10:00a.m-9:00p.m. There will be three shifts per day in the CAPA booth. 10am-2pm, 2pm-6pm, 6pm-9pm. This will make it easier for people with busy schedules to participate this year. Two featured authors will be signing their books during each shift. Debbie Kilday, Big E Committee Chair, will act as booth manager/cashier for all shifts during the entire 17 days. Authors can focus on meeting and greeting buyers while personally autographing their books. During a designated shift authors can display business cards, brochures, flyers and any promotional materials advertising their titles.

Take advantage of this lucrative opportunity and join fellow CAPA members in this exciting annual event. Look for the Big E author’s application in the May edition of The Authority.
